About
An atlas of your sky, and of the smart telescopes that capture it.
Smart Telescope Atlas is an independent reference that helps you choose a smart telescope for your own sky: your place, your horizon and the nights you can actually observe.
Why "Atlas"
The name works three ways, and all three describe what the site does.
- An atlas of the world. You start on a globe and fly down to your own street, because what you can photograph depends on where you stand.
- An atlas of smart products. Every smart telescope we track is mapped by the same measures (field of view, aperture, weight, official price), each with its source and check date.
- Atlas, who carries the sky. In Greek myth the titan Atlas holds up the heavens. The best-known statue of him, the Farnese Atlas in Naples, carries a globe of the constellations on his shoulders. That is the step our planner takes: from the Earth to the sky above your roof.
What we do, and what we don't
- We compare published specifications and calculate what fits in each telescope's frame. The rule is on the methodology page.
- We do not sell telescopes and we do not rank by commission. Some store links may become affiliate links; see the disclosure.
- We have not tested these telescopes ourselves, so we publish no star ratings or review scores.
- Your location is used in your browser only. See privacy.
